FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are toygers originally descended from tigers?
No, Toygers are normal, domesticated cats, whose coat markings and body structure should resemble those of a tiger.
How is the Toyger in character?
Each Toyger has a very individual character, but overall the motto fits " Right in the middle of the party instead of just being there " quite well. The Toyger is a very people-oriented cat and sometimes she's more of a dog than a cat, wants to be wherever you are. She needs someone to talk to - being at home alone all day is absolutely not her thing! She is active but not hyperactive; she is sociable but not intrusive; she is very curious and interested - simply our dream of a cat 😊!
Are toygers very talkative, ie meowing a lot?
Toygers don't particularly meow a lot, but they are very diverse in their expression. They can meow, purr, coo, grumble and express their needs and desires in countless nuances.
How long does a Toyger live?
A well-groomed and cared for Toyger lives to an average age of 12 - 15 years.
Do toygers need special care?
Toygers have an easy-care, velvety coat and only need the same care as other cats: high-quality food, fresh water and daily play and cuddles with their people. Depending on the cat and the environment, it may also be necessary to clip the claws from time to time.
Do toygers lose a lot of hair?
Toygers have short fur that sheds little and is groomed by the cat itself.
How big/heavy do toygers get?
Toygers are an average cat size, males are generally larger than female cats:
Hangover: approx. 5 - 6kg
female: approx. 3.5-4.5kg
Do Toygers get along well with other cats and dogs?
The Toyger is a very social and self-confident cat breed, which - after an appropriate acclimatization period - is very well tolerated in most cases.
Which feed do you recommend?
We recommend high-quality complete cat food that contains a high percentage of meat, is grain-free, sugar-free and has been made without preservatives. If you are interested, we can recommend a suitable food. We can also support BARF feeding, but this requires an interest in dealing with cat feeding in depth.
